Sláinte! St. Paddy’s Day 2013

Calling all Irish, and those who want to be Irish for the day! St. Paddy’s Day celebrations are beginning in CT on Saturday March 9th, and there’s something for everyone!

If you are a longtime CT resident that means you know all about the annual St. Paddy’s Day parades and most likely you already have your favorite. But if you’re new to CT here’s a list of the PARADES for you to choose from:

New Haven: My personal favorite, the New Haven St. Paddy’s Day Parade begins Sunday, March 10th at 1:30pm.

Stamford: Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade begins Saturday, March 9th at noon.

Hartford: Hartford St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Saturday March 9th at 11am.

Milford: Milford St. Patrick’s Day Parade, Saturday March 9th at 1pm (raindate March 16th).

If parades aren’t your thing, or you want to keep the celebration going there are two local PUB CRAWLS to choose from:

West Haven: Pre-parade Pub Crawl, Saturday March 9th, begins at 3:30pm and runs until 2:30am on March 10th.

Hosted by Fresco and Dubel’s Cafe of West Haven, this Campbell Ave pub crawl is a fundraiser to benefit the New Haven St. Paddy’s Day parade (check out the event Facebook page here). Registration begins at 3:30pm at either location and a there is a $10 fee to participate. There are 7 bars participating are: Fresco, Savin Rock Roasting, Company, Scoreboards, Mike’s Apizza, Kelly’s on Campbell, Duffy’s Tavern, and Dubels Cafe. Specials: drink specials until 9p, the first 100 people to particpate get a free Pub Crawl cup to use during the event, and Mike’s Apizza will also be donating slices of pizza to pub crawlers!

Milford: 3rd Annual Pub Crawl in Downtown Milford on Saturday, March 16th “Toasting the Town” from 5pm until whenever.

Participants must buy a pub crawl t-shirt in order to particpate for $15, ($20 for 2XL, 3XL) at one of these following locations: Abbott’s Grill, Dolce, Downtown Milford Inc., Fur~Baby Boutique & Doggie Daycare, Georgia House, MilfordLIVE.com, Second Street Players at Riverfront Theater and Tax Chicks.

IRISH MUSIC? Head over to Stonebridge Restaurant after Milford’s parade Saturday afternoon:

Highland Rovers are at Stonebridge on the Patio after the Milford St. Paddy’s Day parade, Saturday March 9th at 1:30pm.

Norwalk: Keg and Eggs Brunch at SoNo Marketplace, Sunday March 17th, 1:30-3:30pm.

Uncasville: The Lansdowne Irish Pub at Mohegan Sun has drink and food specials all day, along with bagpipers on March 17th.

Stratford: McCoy’s Pub Party – an indoor/outdoor party with food, drinks, and free entertainment on March 17th 11am-1am AND…

A V.I.P. event on March 13th, 9-10:30pm – Pour the perfect pint of Guinness in association with the Dennis Leary Firefighters Foundation to benefit the Stratford Fire Department. There will be guest bartenders and giveaways.
