Shaken, stirred, it doesn’t matter to me as long as I’m having a French martini at Molto Wine Bar in Fairfield. I’m not a fan of dirty martinis, I prefer the sweet versions when I’m drinking martinis (no, not for all drinks, just martinis really). And yes, the wine selection at Molto Wine Bar is extensive and their food is something I rave about, but that information deserves its own separate post (coming soon, stay tuned).
Why French Martinis at Molto? French Martinis are made of Chambord, Raspberry liquor, Vodka, and Pineapple juice. Simple enough, right? Molto makes them a little differently – they use Raspberry Stoli. Something about the Raspberry Stoli ensures you have a well balanced drink – the sweetness of the drink is not overpowering and the martini does not just taste of vodka. Otherwise you might as well just drink vodka on the rocks, right?
The recipe is simple, I’ve asked the bartenders in the past how they make them so I could replicate their French Martinis for a friend at her bithday party and we came close to it, but there’s nothing like having one at Molto. You can easily find several versions of how to make a French Martini online, such as here. Or better yet, you can head over to Molto and try one for yourself!
It also helps that the bartenders are Molto are friendly, helpful, and remember their regulars – Bethany always remembers us. Who doesn’t love having their own “Cheers “Norm!” moment” at their favorite drinking spot?
